It’s not “your” IP address as such. Just one that you happen to have been allocated currently. Someone else would have had it before you, and someone else will get it after you.

Drop the connection and reconnect to get a new one.

Just dropping a fibre connection is not enough to get issued with a new IP - They are "sticky" - but a 1/2 hour switch off reset it for me !

If you have been a wicked person they will undoubtedly find you at your new IP address... :D

Those were the days..... static IP addresses.

Static IPs still available. Just not from the consumer arm of TalkTalk.

I still have sixteen IPv4 addresses in a contiguous block, or /28.

    Tried IP CONFIG /RELEASE + IPCONFIG/RENEW - IP Fixed

That will renew the lease on the address assigned to the network adapter in your computer, it's not going to do anything about the WAN side IP address on your router.

What is it you do for a living again?

With your background why don't you offer to do it for them?

Mmm, the days when organisations used to give printers (!) static IP addresses...and then we ran out of IP addresses and realised that that was a mistake...
