i've just had a quick look at the main board, and think that every thread that is currently there, has nothing to do with deals, and has everything to do about planning, so can you move ALL THE THREADS, apart from the travel insurance one...


see now how pointless this board is?

    I agree.

    I fail to see the difference between what the purposes are between the two boards.

    Perhaps separate boards for things that are distinct, such as travel insurance or flights/airlines if there is a need to split this forum.

    I disagree ... insurance should also be on the planning board! ;)

    I thought that too. Surely 99% of the posts on the other board are related to Planning, itineraries & What to do.

    In Theory the only threads to not be on here would be "Ryanair ripped me off" and "I got the name wrong how much to change" threads.

    I think the MOD who suggested this forum should name and shame him/herself and explain exactly what the point of this is.

    NB Mark how about you edit this and add a poll?

    I would like to suggest two sub boards for the subjects that crop up very frequently and 'clog' the main board with their repetitive nature:

    1. everything related to low cost air travel
    2. everything related to currency/holiday spending (be it cash, t.cheques or cards)

    That way the people that don't mind answering the same questions over and over again (and get narky when other's suggest the 'search' function) can answer the same questions week in week out to their hearts content) eg:

    I have been ripped off by (insert name of budget airline here) what can I do?
    I have put the wrong name/date/age on my booking, what can I do?
    Please explain luggage allowances and charges/speedy boarding/check in fees etc
    Should I change my pounds to (insert name of currency here) now or later?
    What currency is best for (insert destination here)
    How much will I be charged for using my card abroad?

    etc

    Under the circumstances i think it'd be appropriate.

    I was thinking one along the lines 'Do you think the new thread is necessary' kind of thing? etc
