    I suppose it's about how each of us view targets and what we're trying to achieve. If having a big, aspirational target is what works for you then that's great. Is it because it takes any decisions about when to drink away? I know HB often says that it helps to think that way.:)

    Yes, I think that's it. When I've had periods of abstinence before, I know that I'm also less likely to actually want a drink if I haven't had one for a week, and I'm too easily persuaded if I'm just trying to cut down from a non-cutting down perspective.


    I would also like to reduce the heartburn I get, which needs a good break, and get a good start on weight loss. Before I broke my ankle, I'd done dry January and was going great guns.
    Back in debt again, but for a good cause. £17K to go

    I find life so much simpler since I stopped completely and never give it a second thought. In my drinking days it was a daily battle - I shouldn't but I WANT ONE!
