Nationwide, Halifax and Accord send completion "gifts."

    Not sure about others.

We paid for our house outright, so no BS involvement.

The vendor left us a few presents though.

Eventually, we managed to kill them all. ;)

These are in addition to any cashback you may receive as part of your mortgage product which is carefully costed with the rate, fees and ERC.

FWIW, EAs that give welcome gifts tend to use companies like this one:

    https://www.homemovebox.com/products/welcome/

(So you can get an idea of how much an EA has spent on your gift!)

I suspect mortgage lenders use similar companies, but have probably negotiated 'bulk contracts' - and as others say, some brand owners might have negotiated deals to get their products included.

    Google 'Nationwide Home Move Box'.

Nationwide - 2 year tracker and the rates started dropping and being on the base tracker rate ever since (2% above BOE) - thank you Nationwide, worth more than physical gifts :)

Natonwide - I got a gift box which turned up a couple of weks late,
It had quite a lot of cleaning products, 2 'nationwide'branded mugs, 2 teaspoons, some tea and coffee, biscuits, and a bunch of home improvement magazines.

I had not expected it and picked my mortgage based on what was the best deal for me at the time. Had the box shown up on moving day as it was suppsoed to, it would have ben quite handy because of the cleaning products. As it was, I did end up using most of the stuff eventually.
