    1. Get to target. I've already lost 5st 8lb on Slimming World but I feel I could do with losing another two or three.
    2. Replenish my joint account. Having twins is expensive! I go back to work next month so this one should tick itself off.
    3. Start taking care of myself. It's probably because I'm so busy with the girls, but I don't really follow a skincare or haircare routine. I'd like to change this.

    My goals for 2017:
Reduce my overdraft (or better yet, pay the thing off!)
    Finish my course.
    Settle into my new job.
    Socialise a bit more.
Finish the song I've been trying to write for the past 2 years!

So much inspiration on this thread!

    1) Lose a stone - not a massive amount, but it's been a nightmare to try and shift. Hopefully, it will be easier now I'm happier in myself.
    2) Take some time for myself - it's too easy to get bogged down in everything, and forget that I need to do things for me.
    3) Start swimming again, which ties in with one and two - I used to love swimming, and I haven't done it properly for more than 20 years. Time to get back out there.

2016 has been a tough year for me so I want to:

    - Learn to be happy on my own and not put myself down so much
    - Have the confidence to join clubs and make friends
    - Learn to leave work at work
    - Travel the West Coast of the USA
    - See my friends, even if alone go on daytrips - do something with my life for positivity without being held back by wanting to save £5 here and there but then being miserable

I'm 30 next year and just want to be happy. I've been messed about by so many people (men) and had my heart damaged, I just want to learn to love life on my own.

    Fingers crossed

    In 2017 I aim to:

-lose 2 stone, having eaten terribly over the last 12 months and gotten into the worst shape of my life,
    -finish decorating my house,
-get out more generally (I've become a little too reclusive lately),
    -read more and
    -generally cram more in.

Oh - and perhaps I should try a bit harder to meet someone too.

Good luck to us all in 2017! :)

In 2017 I aim to withdraw 150 quid every Friday morning, and make it last the week and only use my debit card for dire emergencies....

    And drink much less....

By December 2017, I want to:

    * Have a new job

    * Be doing some regular form of exercise

    * Have got the remaining bookshelf and all my OH's books out of the garage and organised.

    * Have formed a new habit of getting to sleep at 10-10.30 every night.

    * Go on a nice family holiday somewhere in the UK with the kids.

    * Still be doing swimming lessons with my 2 yo (may be tricky if new job is full-time - that would need us to resume Sat lessons). Possibly have re-started 5 yo on swimming lessons.
    Mortgage when started: £330,995

Thank you for starting this thread - I feel like making my resolutions 'public' might give me more incentive to stick to them.

I shouldn't need an incentive though, considering these resolutions are to improve my quality of life, but we all know how easy it is to be complacent :/

    1) I need to lose 3 stones; my weight has crept up over the last 5 years and now it is holding me back from socialising
    2) Cut down on drinking. I am downing an obscene amount of wine and this is contributing to my weight gain and stops me from making good use of my evenings
    3) I need to save as much as I can this year, as I want to buy a house in early 2018
    4) I want to declutter as much as I can, for my house move and to maximise savings by ebaying

I will start with Dry January - if I can do this then I will prove to myaelf that I can banish the booze and I will save over £100.

    Good luck everybody!!

By December 2017 I want to have:

    1. Got some form of regular income - whether it be through getting a job, selling stuff I make or something else but I need to generate some money.

    2. Got myself back into shape which means loosing a bit of weight, eating a bit better and doing some more exercise - I'm one of those middle aged people who aren't healthy enough.

    3. Finished all the work in our house and at least started on the renovations of the outhouses.

    4. Built up more of o social life where `I live whilst keeping in touch with old friends.

I might think of a few more things as time goes by but I can come back and edit this post...
    Trying to keep in budget.
