Well done on stopping the self-harm. I've not self-harmed for 5 years now. It was hard going for the first year, but it has become easier as time has passed. Good luck.

Thank you, this is the longest i;ve gone without doing it. (Some people hate tattoos and view it as some kind of defacing my body but..) i got a tattoo last year. And evertime i get the urge i look at it and tell myself i can overcome it. I'm getting another next year. So instead of seeing scars when i look at my legs i can look at pretty things (and hello kitty :o )

A guess , but should it be MCSA?

Only thinking this because I did a few Microsoft Certified computing exams many years back.

    2017 objectives:
    1. £25k in the MSE savings challenge
    2. Change jobs
    3. Go abroad with gf
    4. Get gf to declare her love
    5. Meet gf's parents
    6. Learn at least 5 dishes
    7. Exercise enough to be able to pass the Navy Seal fitness test: http://www.military.com/military-fitness/navy-special-operations/navy-seal-fitness-test
    - The challenge will be to find somewhere I can swim...would be pretty strange doing situps/pushups at the swimming baths

  • I'm usually good at keeping my resolutions but let things slip a bit this year. So here's to next years...

1 - Lose weight Now,I have to get over my fad diet approach and take it slowly. I want to focus on healthy eating rather than cutting out certain food groups, meal replacements, fasting days etc etc.

2 - Get fit Which should help with the above :). I got into running this year and have already signed up for a 10k race and half marathon next year

3 - Make overpayments to loan I consolidated my credit cards and got a loan to pay them all off with a 3.5 year repayment plan. I have been so lazy with debt busting but this loan means I have to pay more than the c card minimums. All credit card accounts are now closed, overdraft is gone. Just have to make the repayments and aim to overpay some

4 - Meal plan I am awful at this

5 - Get new bathroom I have the money for it and it is desperately needed as current bathroom is barely functional

6 - Re-decorate living room Have had some issues with damp so that will need sorted then redecorating can commence

7 - Spend quality time with friends and family Cos that is what life is all about :)

8 - Travel I like to travel as much as possible, with low cost airlines and hotels it is possible to see a lot of the world on a small budget

9 - Dating Find the courage to start online dating and meet some new people. Hopefully weight loss etc will increase my self esteem and I will feel more up to this. My Right is out there somewhere but I'll never meet him if I'm sitting at home on the sofa all the time

10 - Less social media time This one might actually be the hardest :rotfl: I waste far too many hours just scrolling up and down FB/Twitter etc, no need!

As always, I would be happy to get through the year with my health, marbles and nearest n dearest intact :). A happy year for all is the ultimate goal.

    Happy New Year Everyone xxx
£15900 loan (including interest) over 3.5 years to pay off...can I do it sooner???
    £940/£15900

    Weight loss 0/28 lbs

[*]See Sigur Ros again-I've been a fan for over 10 years and finally got to see them live this year and I want to see them again :D

I love Sigur Ros. It's been easy 10 years since I've seen them live, should arrange it again really.

Yep apologies, it's MCSA. You can blame me typing too fast for that!

It might be slightly cheating this one as I've already passed one of the exams required but as I haven't actually finished it yet I'll consider it ok to stick on the list.

My list is currently in progress - I want SMART objectives this year :) also I'm away and have no access to a laptop at the minute and it's too much of a faff to do it on my phone. Current thinking is to have 300 days of eg not drinking etc. Today is day 1!

Thanks everyone for the great ideas and feel free to add or update as the year goes on. And anyone else very welcome to join.

    Happy new year everyone!

SQL. I'm a DBA so figured I'd do the certification.

There are features of SQL Server we've never used at work and aren't likely to either so these are proving challenging and the areas I'm focusing on. Similarly there are some aspects I know extremely well so hoping it'll balance out in the end.
