And yet post change they are still only in 3rd place for gas only among the big 6...0

which co is the cheapest?0

And for my usage, the new prices would mean the yearly bill would be 50% higher than my current npower gas tariff.
Wont be changing to them then.0 -
@bulktrans
Cheapest can be found on comparison sites. It varies by region/energy used/standing charges so there is no simple answer.
Get your yearly gas/electric from your bills (you have been checking them and making sure that the meter readings are correct not estimates) and try a few websites.0 -
There is no 'cheapest': it depends on usage and region.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Thanks guys I will check the comparison website. At present I am with Scottish Power (for both gas and elec). But I am moving house soon and I think I will just stick with Scottish Power to save any other hassle .. any ideas?0

For me the cheapest gas available is £7 (1%) cheaper than my current deal and with my current supplier, the cheapest "big 6" is £74 (13%) dearer and BG's new cheapest is £285 (50%) dearer so dropping their prices by a measly 5% is only to grab a headline and try to fool the stupid.0

The Scot Power one that I am looking at present has Standing charge of 20p and unit rate of 3.31p0
