It could be worse....it could be avocado
That was the colour of the bathroom in our first house. But back then it was quite trendy :rotfl:
We bought our current house 25 years ago from new, and the bathroom is 'whisper peach', which I like. But it is getting a little dated, although perfectly functional.
Like you, if we had a major problem it'd probably push us into updating.
I expect you'll eventually get it done, but puddles on the floor that can't be explained might make it sooner rather than later.
If it is DS doing his seal impression, you'll have to think of another pressing reason!Early retired - 18th December 2014
If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough0 -
I can sense your disappointment :rotfl: any sign of unexplained puddles today?
We also have a rather old bathroom, luckily it is a white suite, although the tiles etc are not great. As much as I can't stand it, I couldn't justify getting rid of it, not whilst there is so many other things to spend our money on
I'm really jealous of your proximity to the coast! You should definitely make the most of that! We're rather land locked where we are, we do have a river in our town though and it's lovely walking down by there.
Finge crossed you don't all get the cold! Get the vit c out and pump the children full of OJ :rotfl:Mortgage March 2011 £143,927.6

Hi Crumpets & Gg, no more puddles as yet, am gutted
:rotfl: DS went to my mums last night till Thurs though so now is the test - am on puddle alert
Gg whisper peach actually sounds quite lovely, I actually want an eighties bathroom when we do ours & whisper peach could be on the agenda! People often see the eighties as the era that style forgot but I love it :j
Crumpets I shall try & make more of the coast! You'll have to pop up to us for a mini break one time & get your coast fix :T
Well I was thinking yesterday that it feels like we've spent a bomb recently, between the new car, holidays [STRIKE]and cheeky pearls[/STRIKE]so I'm trying to cut down on little bits. I saw a tin of biscuits in M&S with a map of the UK & food specialities on it, I love M&S tins! I could do with something to put things like birthday candles & biscuit cutters in, & am tempted to get it, its £5, but am wondering if that's the kind of thing I should cut back on. I don't know, we *never* bought anything like that before the inheritance, we didn't have the spare cash so it was just a blanket ban, so I sort of think I shouldn't cut back now if I see something little like that that I fancy. Ignore me, I'm wittering
One thing I have ordered though is a half price bubble machine from The Entertainer, I'm not triggering an asthma attack with all the bubble blowing the kids want me to do & I'm fed up of tasting washing up liquid :rotfl: Collecting today, although apparently they get Click & Collect ready in 30 mins, I got an email half an hour after I ordered to say it was ready yesterday! Obviously they understand the desperation of parents in the summer
Am out for lunch today with a friend but that's the only treat this week honest! She's had a bit of a rough time so we're taking the babies & going out for scran & a catch-up. I have a list a mile long for town, just boring things like Sellotape as DS has covered the house in the stuff this summer & also wrapping paper as am going to try & get all DS' birthday gifts wrapped whilst he's at my Mums, then I'm not trying to do it when SIL & DN are here. Plus we are away 26-30th & his birthday is 31st & I don't want to be doing it at midnight on the night we get back! Last Xmas I ordered some last minute bits from Amazon, they arrived Xmas eve & were wrapped at 9pm with OH sitting with her back to the lounge door in case DS tried to come down
Have a good day all xxLife is changing...but I'm still Money Saving!0 -

Yes please RT...love my mini breaksI was watching Coast (Neil Oliver is my tv crush) last night and can't wait to get to the beach again, especially out of season when you can bundle up for a walk and then go and warm up in a nice cafe
If I was you I would get the biscuit tin if it's something that you will love and use. I'm sure there is somewhere else you could save £5 in order to not feel guilty about it  I'm sure the relatives that left you the inheritance would want you to enjoy the benefits of it, life is for living after all. Then again, if my mortgage was the size of yours I'd probably be very tempted to reduce the monthly payments and enjoy having a lot of extra money each month to play with...perhaps best not to admit to that on my own thread
Have you got the bubble machine yet? I wish we an entertainer nearby as we need a new one, ours got broke and like you I get so fed up of blowing bubbles! Ds always just pours his mixture all over the floor too :rotfl:
Best of luck with the present wrappingMortgage March 2011 £143,927.6

Hi Crumpets, yes the bubble machine is brill! DD is saying "bubbles, bubbles" all the time now & the carpet is permanently slight soggy
I think The Entertainer do home delivery?
I do sometimes feel tempted to reduce the mortgage payments, but I haven't OPd for 2 months & that feels bad enough . Think I'll re-address all that when SIL has gone & DS back at school.
Not much more time to post as SIL is, according to my flight tracker, approaching the airport! Suffice to say its been a spendy few days argh! Just things like more rechargeable batteries for DS' birthday toys, & wrapping paper, it all adds up. Some bargs though, managed to get DS a school coat in Trespass reduced from £50 to £18 :money:. Also got a few bargains on crafting things in Sainsys for him & little friends birthdays, all 70% off :money:. Also got a set of 4 pens each for the kids with their names on, £2 each, theyll make good stocking fillers. Its easy to get things with DS' name on, his has been in top 10 for the last 15 years, we thought we'd given DD an equally boring namebut hers has gone from top 10 fifteen years ago to 60 something I think (according to ONS) & it's not easy to find hers. So I was really pleased with those. And I got everything wrapped - phew!
We've decided we're just going to go with it spending-wise for SIL's visit & financially re-group afterwards. Still no more puddles in the bathroom so my powshecorner spa bath & double shower remain a distant dream :rotfl:
SIL has landed! Signing off now, might pop on over next few weeks, if not, 'see' everyone in Sept!Life is changing...but I'm still Money Saving!0 -
Great diary! Great read! Crikey Moses... You're so organised and well planned! Am so impressed!
& also glad for you re the inheritance, such a lovely thing from your loved ones!
Am sure they would have been thrilled to have helped you so.
Have a good break with sil...
Best wishes from another flight tracker fan!

I love seeing the planes and where they're going and where they've been. Great entertainment.

Get the International Space Station tracker then sign up for alerts on the NASA website, and stand outside watching it pass overhead. That'll help them decide - did with mine anyway :rotfl:. Though DS did text me to say he'd had his GF's family looking at it, and 2 friends have signed up to it :T.
Yes I must sign up for ! A friend sent through a link and we were able to go into the garden and watch it going over...bang on time of course! Around 10pm at night and oh and I were standing like statues looking up at it.. We looked just like those statues on the roundabout outside Faro airport! :rotfl:
