Can I suggest that you might find it very useful to read the training section on the website as this gives you basic instructions.

They seem to send the SMARTs you need separately from the posting packs.

When you have completed training and are on the regular panel, most SMARTs will arrive in mail from other panel members. You don't receive them in the posting pack then (and occasionally TNS send them direct to you in a separate envelope) and so I guess they don't include them in the posting packs they send out for training purposes.

    Thanks for this info.

Both Smarts have now arrived and I'm slowly starting to get the hang of it all.

I have a DVD parcel to post. It states to post it in a post box. However i am on foot tomorrow and there are no postboxes large enough to fit the parcel into near my house. Do you think it would be ok to hand it over at post office and make a note of the post box details outside, and record that i posted it in the same postbox ??
Are you sure you have assembled it correctly, I can get a DVD parcel in those very small post boxes that are mounted on a post

Do they have a clue what is going on, like others I have been receiving smarts in a seperate envelope. Received a single smart on Thursday morning with the standard letter "Please find enclosed some smarts for use in your test leters."
Tonight on my manage your smarts, the smart received on Thursday is to be returned

Given they are smarts (or RFIDs in RM talk)
The very process of them going through the system could be enough.
RM is doing a lot of RFID testing itself right now with focus on the collection to pipeline element

They don't fit into the post boxes outside any of my local POs either. There's only a couple of postboxes locally I can get them into and those are the very small freestanding ones, they seem to be deeper and have wider openings so they slot in okay. It's really annoying.

Yes, as it happens i walked to post office and believe it or not it fit fine in to the post box outside. Another post box i tried a previous time was too small. So there must be different size slots/ postboxes :)

The slots on my local post boxes are the size of an ordinary envelope.

It says on the box 'for letters only'.

I can get a medium brown envelope in by bending it over slightly.

The jiffy bag and the DVD box fit in the box on a post outside the sub post office in the next village.

The last time I posted a box one of the posties ( it is also a sorting office) was standing talking to someone and was amazed when the box went it.

It is exactly the size of the slit and touches the back of the box so needs gentle manouvering to get it to slide down.
