I believe you can reclaim it in the same way.

    The answer should be here

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/section75-protect-your-purchases

If you don't/didn't get what you were led to believe you would receive you dispute it - and they don't get your money.

It's no victory unless you get your money back. Claim - claim and claim again.

Others will be more expert than I am, but the info on what to do is in the pages of this website.

Now that it has been closed down, will people who paid via debit card be able to claim their money back? We were due to go this Saturday but obviously as there is nothing there the tickets are completely worthless.

I mentioned that I worked mainly elsewhere but saw no reason to promote my main home

Sorry if I shouldn't have mentioned it. I have been a big fan of that site for some time. Such good work is done there that I thought it deserved a mention. Anything which helps to keep scammers occupied and away from their 'job' of scamming innocent people is a huge public service to us all.

Anyway, back to the reason for this post, which is to follow up on the Lapland West Midlands site.

I have copies of the original web pages from the Lapland New Forest website. Comparing the html code of the New Forest web pages with the West Midlands web pages this is what I see -

    New Forest web page -

<meta NAME="description" CONTENT="Santa's Grotto / Father Christmas Lapland theme park: Making Christmas dreams come true for children of all ages; Lapland New Forest is the seasonal event to see in the South East of England ... ">
<meta NAME="keywords" CONTENT="santa's grotto, santas grotto, santa grotto, meet santa, christmas grotto, santas gooto, father christmas, meet father christmas, christmas theme park, lapland theme park, christmas events, sanat's grotto, laplandnewforest.co.uk">
<meta name="Identifier" content="lapland, lapland new forest, santas grotto, santa's grotto, santa grotto, meet father christmas, christmas theme park">

    West Midlands web page -

<meta NAME="description" CONTENT="Santa's Grotto / Father Christmas lapland theme park: Making Christmas dreams come true for children of all ages; Lapland West Midlands is the seasonal event to see in the Midlands ... ">
<meta name="keywords" content="Lapland, UK, England, Britain, Great Britain, christmas, vacation, holiday, break, children, kids, santa's grotto, santas grotto, santa grotto, meet santa, christmas grotto, santas gooto, father christmas, meet father christmas, christmas theme park, lapland theme park, christmas events, sanat's grotto, laplandwestmidlands.co.uk" />
<meta name="Identifier" content="lapland, lapland new forest, santas grotto, santa's grotto, santa grotto, meet father christmas, christmas theme park">

Yes - it's almost identical ! Notice that in one place the West Midlands site still has "lapland new forest" in it!

So either they copied all that code from the New Forest website or it is done by the same people!

This looks more and more like another attempt to pull the same scam again!

GomerPyle - over to you my friend!

How do you know this  Do the dogs actually belong to you?

No these dogs do not belong to me but I do know both the breeder and the owner. All I am trying to point out is that the British Huskies do tend to be thin and rangy and that I suspect that many of the vistors to this park would have been expecting to see the heavy fluffy type dogs. Look at the orginal dogs imported from Siberia, Seppalas Fritz (heavy) and Seppalas Togo (light)this should show you how different they can be in terms of type. If you log on to the Siberian Husky Club of Great Britain website you could find out what the disired type of dog is in this country if you are willing to open a new thread. Somebody in an earlier thread mentioned that some of the dogs were cross breeds, this is not true but again shows the variation in type.
  • I have been following this thread with some interest over the last few days... does anyone else think it is slightly strange that the New Forest site should close down today - potentially leaving just enough time for the whole kit and caboodle to be relocated to the West Midlands... surely this isn't the same scam all over again...

Before my head swells too big I better point out that this thread was three miles long before I got involved and the publicising of the affair was not my doing. Some other people, that I couldn't possibly name unless I trawled back through all of this, deserve equal or greater praise.

It's a team effort and everyone who reclaims their money or makes this sorry business public is entitled to a pat on the bank.

So my thanks and praise to you all. :T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T

Baby_J yes you can reclaim as you will have no chance of getting the service you paid for. Refer to this page

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/section75-protect-your-purchases?gclid=CP-HnZWVp5cCFR2zEAodayeV-A#debitcard

I must say that the Daily Mail article today was a cracker and gave me some powerful ammunition that I was only too pleased to fire. So congrats to them too

    :T:T:T:T

The up and coming West Midlands event. I wonder if that is just going to wither and due on the vine due to all the bad publicity. The matter has been publicised in virtually every major newspaper from the Sun to the Mail and the Times, not including national TV and local radio.

I do wonder if lodging complaints to the local Council would help them to forestall any licence approval. The complaints being based on the fiasco recently having occurred in the New Forest. Sometimes a different weapon is appropriate, and may be more efficient. ;)

No problem at all Dark-Star I didn't come here to promote another site, but I am fastidiously honest by nature and used the same user name so that anyone interested in looking, could track me down if they wanted to know what I was all about.

    new announcement on website
    Official Announcement: 4th December 2008

With my deepest regret and sincerest apology I am left with no option but to announce that I am forced to close the children's entertainment theme park "Lapland New Forest" for 2008 due ( I believe at the time of publishing ) to:
    • Intentional organised crowd manipulation and event sabotage during and since our first trading weekend.
    • The unscrupulous and inaccurate negative bias media broadcasts of both local and national press and television companies that contributed significantly to fuelling widespread public concern, frenzy and distraction since the 1st December 2008.
    • What I believe to be a wholly illegal action by the credit merchant company called "Streamline" of seizing /withdrawing all funds without notice from the Lapland New Forest Ltd bank account leaving us completely unable to trade.
For all people wishing to claim financial reimbursement we can only advise at the time of writing that you return to our website for further information on this important matter.

Both I and all of the Lapland New Forest Team have had every intention of both continuing and continuing to enhance our children's event ... we have all put many months of hard planning, endeavour and finance into the Christmas theme park ... our wonderful venture and advertising campaign proved to be highly popular and many of our visitors did have a great day with us!

We are all deeply upset at the outrageous lies, slander, accusations, violent threats and lack of official support we have endured and I have every intention of pursuing all matters to the full extent of the law.

From myself and every member of the Lapland New Forest Team to ALL of our valued customers and incredible team players that contributed so much to our honourable and beautiful event - we look forward to reaching a clear and satisfactory conclusion as soon as is possble.

what have streamline go to do with this?
  • It looks totally fishy that they are leaving NOW. I do have a strong feeling that they are relocating to Midland. Surely, these conmen cannot afford to buy / keep 2 sets of all the facilities and animals!!

I hope nobody has bought any ticket for this!
