Tescos petrol - contaminated again?

Options
I filled up with Unleaded petrol at Tescos today. As soon as I drove off, the car started cutting out whenever I took my foot off the gas.

I remember there was some contaminated petrol at Tescos about a year ago, which caused this problem - could it be happening again?

Has anyone lese filled up at Tescos today?

Also, does anyone know what I should do about this problem?

Thanks

How soon after you drove off? It may take several minutes for the new petrol to get to the engine

    Thanks for your replies.

Well, I paid in the kiosk, and then drove off. No differently to how I would
any other time. Also, I had about a quarter of a tank before I filled up

We've had reports of Tesco diesel being contaminated, in Cambridge. See other thread..

It could be a coincidence, but it does sound like it was the fuel. If I were you the first thing I would do, would be to buy 2 or 3 litres in a can, now from the same pump. Then talk to trading standards.

I'm about to go and get a few litres myself, I think I'll go to BP

Sorry to hear that, ever since the balls up by Tesco last year, I avoid all supermarket petrol/fuel.

Shell garage is always cheaper around here as well.;)

Well that wouldn't be the fuel you've just put in as there's a good litre or more sat in the filters and the fuel lines so you'd need to do a good 5-10 miles before the other fuel started to be drawn through.

So how come it is only ever the Supermarkets that sell contaminated fuel then?

BTW, my vision is fine, no need to use large fonts.
