E: 30/04 Photoshop Elements v5 + GoLive CS2 for under £6

Actually it's a Domain Name + 1 year Webhosting + Photoshop Elements v5 + GoLive CS2 + more software for under £6!

Just signed up to Strato Hosting. Until 30 April you can get any of their webhosting packages for £1 + VAT (at German rate of 19%) which includes Adobe Photoshop Elements 5 photo editing software and Adobe GoLive CS2 web design software and more - click here for a list of all the software included (note some apps only come with higher-end packages - but all are priced at £1 for first year).

The full outlay is....
webhosting package - domain name included): £1.00 (reverts to at least £3.49 + VAT per month after first year)
shipping fee for software: £3.99
VAT (19% German VAT rate): £0.95

TOTAL COST: £5.94

I wasn't particuarly interested in the webhosting (will just use it to tinker!) but a bit of a bargain for the Adobe software. I first noticed that 1and1 in Germany were giving Photoshop Elements away, then after a quick Google I found this deal.

Also found this article about Adobe and Strato teaming up so seems to be legit: http://www.webitpr.com/release_detail.asp?ReleaseID=5067

This looks like a great software bundle offer. I have had a look at the site but can't work whether you get the software as a download or whether they mail you the CDs.

    Anybody know?

Edit: Just read the previous post and noticed the £3.99 shipping fee for the software so I guess that answers my question! Many thanks to the OP.

Yes - looks like it is sent to you.

Ts and Cs suggest that if you don't want to renew your sub at the end of the year, you need to give one-month's written notice (and it must be signed).

Remember to do that, and it's a great deal.

Photoshop Elements 5.0 has a patch for Vista avaialble now from the Adobe site.

    Cheers OP

Many thanks to the OP. I have decided to go for it, hone some new skills and maybe launch a new career.

What have I got to lose apart from £5.94 and a bit of time?

Ta - I've gone for this and am now the proud owner of https://www.kittensareawesome.co.uk. Well, I will be when it's set up. I doubt I'll keep it for more than the year, at the cost of about 48 quid per annum, but it's worth trying for the free software.

Got my CDs through last weekend and now installed Photoshop Elements v5 and GoLive CS2 on my Vista PC - full versions with proper serial codes on the disk wallet. Software costs about £460 for full retail versions. Well happy!

Very strange, I just signed up for this, got the £5.94 screen, then an email from MBNA online saying they have charged me £35.... !!!!!!!

Will check when it appears on my statement but seems a massive discrepency.

I opted for the most basic package (in case I forget to cancel before the renewal). I think only 1 package is downloadable. I received 2 sealed CD packs branded by Strato after about a week - one has 2 CDs in it: Photoshop Elements and GoLive. The other has the rest of the software in it, but I haven't opened it yet since most of the software on there is downloadable from elsewhere anyway (OpenOffice, SmartFTP etc.)
