Very strange, I just signed up for this, got the £5.94 screen, then an email from MBNA online saying they have charged me £35.... !!!!!!!

Will check when it appears on my statement but seems a massive discrepency.

I was correctly charged £5.94 on my credit card to STRATO MEDIEN AG

I would check your emails to see what services you signed up for, or better still any printouts you took when ordering (if you have them)?

Well I have a pending transaction for £35 no details yet. I have the web page saying £5.94, so will def. be querying it when it appears.

update: Only email I have says "You will receive your order confirmation / invoice by email within the next few days. The invoice amount will be directly debited after your full package has been connected."
    Very strange.

I opted for the most basic package (in case I forget to cancel before the renewal).

Something you may not have noticed is they charge got 12 months in advance on the basic package so they'll bill you for £50 for the 2nd year, It's not a month by month contract.

Not a biggie but worth remembering you get the cancellation on on time...

I ordered the Powerweb package on Tuesday night and it was set up by the Wednesday morning. I haven't seen the bill on my CC yet, but it seemed to have gone through ok.

The Powerweb package has a traffic allowance of 20gb per month (I assume), but nowhere on the site, can I find what the charges are for exceeding that amount of bandwidth or indeed, any for other package.

It's a good deal though for the software and domain names alone.

    Michael.
  • At the end of the year presumably it is possible to transfer the domain to another host? This doesn't seem very clear.

This looks an amazing deal to pass up.

Will I need to cancel before the end of the year?
Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%
Remember when that Bank Manager or Salesperson smiles at you, all he sees is £ notes. Dont forget the motto, "the wider their grin, the more debt your in"
