You mean individual EU countries have a real say, a vote, even a veto?
That doesn't really fit with brexiteers' rethoric that the EU superstate overrules national interests, does it?
OK so if the UK put forward a motion to stop the EU parliament moving from Brussels to Strasbourg every month and the whole of the Eastern European countries voted to support it, it wouldn't be vetoed by France and Germany and then carry on? That enormous waste of taxpayers money is one of the things that puts me off EU membership.0 -
It's very brave of you to admit such a dishonest approach to debate in these forums so openly; no wonder so many don't even bother trying to debate here.
Saying that new jobs is a sign of confidence in brexit Britain but ignoring job losses because unemployment in Europe is higher hardly sets new highs when it comes to quality of debate.0 -

That's democracy. On the converse it also means that if Germany wanted the EU Parliament to rotate between Brussles, Strasbourg and Nurenberg, we'd be able to veto it.
From within the EU we can at least open up the closing of the Strasbourg Parliament, with some reasonable arguments for getting rid of it (the huge waste and inefficiency, environmental impact, etc). Outside will just need to keep paying for it.0 -

Tom Crotty INEOS directorHe would not be drawn on the exact level of Welsh Government funding, but said it was below the rumoured £13m. It was not the deciding factor he added, and the grant was linked to the creation of jobs.
A plant building obsolete ICE is going out of business because increasingly stringent changes to world wide restrictions on carbon emissions.
Someone, (from a council house background so you should all be crowing about that) has the intuition and desire to invest in the future and they get pilloried.
Keep living in the dark ages fellas, remember what happened when the spinning jennies came out.

In the latest news, forum remainers refuse to accept that the wealthy often own homes across the world rather than having just one home.
:rotfl:
What should any Brexiter expect when remainers basically admit to trolling other usersIt saves time if we immediately dismiss the lies coming from leavers. We know they are just a stalling tactic & will evaporate after we leave. Might as well get it over and done with now.
Note for Forum Team:
This is not intended in a "nasty" post but is purely factual as the included quote very clearly shows.
I have most carefully read the definition of a troll and it does indeed suit the included quote very well; in fact is is almost the exact definition.
I am fully aware that certain contributors may take umbrage but may I politely point out that these are all likely to be of the same persuasion because I could almost guarantee that your "usual suspects" will indeed complain.
Thank you.

He is not open to coherent and balanced debate and quite readily reverts to name calling and mud slinging.0 -

As I understand it the engines in the new Ineos will be BMW 3.0 litre petrol and diesels - aren't they internal combustion engines.
You can't have it all ways.0 -

If it was vetoed do you think it would stop because I don't.0 -

To begin with.
They say they will prioritise hydrogen fuel cell technology for the future but this technology costs money to develop, though I note Ineos have £150k government funding in place as part of a UK competition to develop zero-emission vehicles.
Since the UK has already announced all new cars must be zero emission by 2040 & plans are already afoot to bring that date forward try not to be too upset by a few diesel engines.0
