19 days to go!!
Had a phone call from Payplan to say that we would be debt free in 19- days. I will be so happy to hand over the last payment and put the last few years behind us. If I've learnt anything from this is if you want it; save for it; if you can't afford it; don't have it and ask yourself do you really need it. If there is…

IVA Debt Resurfacing
In about 2001 I took out an IVA. After about 2 and a half years I decided to remortgage my house (which in hindsight was what I should have done in the first place) and made an offer to the creditors, which they accepted. The IVA was settled, over the next few years I managed to repair my credit rating, and everything was…

On IVA but still have credit card with credit available, can I use it?
After I was accepted on to an IVA, my creditors froze my cards so I could not use them, except one card which I never owed money to. They seem to be unaware that I am on an IVA and my credit limit with them remains in tact. Could I use this card only in emergencies? If so, would my creditors find out?

My experience and tips before taking and IVA
My ex partner and I took out an IVA in February 2006 and it has been relatively pain free. The way to look at them is how much you haven't had to pay back instead of how much you do. We had £75000 of debt between us and although we have now split we are now responsible for our debt only. We started off with one company who…

IVA - Was I Missold?

I have no assets, I have about £2800 in a pension fund…

Sent Debt Relief Application back to CCCS
Hello, In April, I called CCCS to discuss my debts totalling £11,000. I had lost my job in February and started claiming Income Based Job Seekers Allowance in March, which I still receive. They suggested that, because I do not have more than £50 spare every month, I could apply for a Debt Relief Order. They sent all the…
