I will never touch a Samsung printer again. Brother printers have been so and so, but you could give it a try.
Personally, HP are the most reliable out there, although you may find a broader range of models if you can also include colour printers.0 -
I had a basic brother laser printer (not three in one) and had it for several years with no issues. Now have a colour brother 3 in 1 - no issues so far - was a bargain at less than £200.0

Personally I have had great service from a Brother laser printer and a Canon scanner both of which are over 10 years old. If one breaks I could replace whichever breaks (testing fate here) Tech moves on but putting faith in a 3-in-one is a false economy :money:

Brother L2700DW
Just works, cheap toner, 3 in 1 functions, easy driver install.
Was so happy with it that we bought a Brother colour laser for work and that has been just as good.0 -
Brother multi functions all day long. For cheap reliable home lasers they are the only one I would buy. Have put dozens in home offices.0

I've had a Samsung basic mono laser for three years it works well no problems, compatable carts £12, printer £35 in Amazon sale"Imagination is more Important than knowledge"0

I have a Brother HL-2250DN. Now seven years old it has never faltered and compatible cartridges are cheap as chips. Whatever you choose, it's worth getting one that can print duplex - both sides of the paper.0

Brother HL-22, cartridges on Amazon cheap as chips and last for ages - black ink £14.99 for two https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00IK0CO6K/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=10

I have a Brother Multi Function but would hesitate to buy another!
It is good in parts. It will churn out pages of text quickly and cheaply for proof reading but the reproduction of any graphics is really poor, even by cheap laser printer standards.
It is quick and easy to use as a photocopier but again, anything other than plain black text is not reproduced at all well.
Scanner is quite good and quick to use, plus it has a document feeder that seems to work well. Scanning on this and printing on another laser printer gives decent enough results which sort of confirms that the printer side is fairly poor.
Finally, print density varies quite a bit at the cartridge ages. Genuine ones seem little if any better than the cheapest you can get.
Drum unit is separate to the cartridge and supposed to last for four cartridges. Replacing it made no difference at all.
Maybe it should have gone back when still under warranty but it was one of those borderline things.....0 -

Quite often when I'm teaching privately!
Funny I should see this thread as the toner light has just come on my Samsung 3 in 1. Any recommendations as to where to get an MLT-D101S (or compatible)?0
