  • Lidl were selling this a few weeks back and might have some still in stock, I actually bought some myself for the cupboard. I used some of it on a chicken breast fried in the pan with some olive oil but cant remember being bowled over with it. It might have been one of those westernised versions that kethry mentioned above though.

If you like hot chilli sauce, Sainsburys sometimes have this in for about £1.50 (its normaly about £5.99 bought on the web) Hot Headz - Who Dares Burns:

I'm not exaggerating when I say this stuff makes tabasco sauce seem like plain yogurt just out the fridge! Just one small drop on a burger will incinerate your taste buds. Superb chilli taste though if your a chilli fan.

If not you can always take it down the pub and get your own back on the show offs by having bets with them that they cant eat a chip or nacho thats been dipped into it without pulling a face!

You can make your own. The standard recipe is about 2/3rd chillis and 1/3 salt and just blitz in the food processor. Keeps in the fridge for about 2 weeks, longer if you add lime juice. Would be better if you can get small green limes called "limau kasturi" (no idea what they are in english).

My favorite is the one when you add shrimp paste (called belacan, belachan or various spelling thereof) but it smells quite strong.

Or if buying, try chinese supermarkets, I get mine from there when I don't make any.
  • Hi Rikki you can use Lidl Thai rice for your Nasi Goreng and i see that they also do a ready meal version as well in the fridge bit.

I bought it in Sainsburys last time I was looking for it. The local chinese supermarket does it as well.

I found some in Sainsburys. :T

Not the branch I normally shop in. :D
