    3) This is the most difficult and problematic issue. I need to send invoices for all of the 4 items that i have just sold. Its not a problem getting them.

The problem is that i got banned  from paypal a long time ago because i didnt have receipts for some of the items which i brought and which were given to me as presents.

Now the paypal accounts on my sisters name and address .........whoops.

They require the invoices to be in the account holders name and address but all the products were brought by me in my name and delivered at my address. What do i do?
They obviously have my records aswell??????

None of my mine or friends/families paypal accounts have ever had to supply invoices (all recieved way over £1700).
Anyone know if people are randomly selected for this or is it default?
Just helping someone set up ebay now to sell £10,000 or so worth of vintage camera equipment, toys etc who obviously won't be able to supply original receipts.

OP depending on what you were selling couldn't "your sister" claim that the items were gifts from yourself?
As you seem to have stated that receipts for your xmas gifts would have been sufficent last time to prevent your suspension - i.e did paypal tell you last time that invoices/reciepts for the gifts would have been sufficent depsite them not being in your name??

Didi - I think this part is the problem:

I told ppal that I was not a business as such I did not need to provide invoices...I dont sell volumes as such I guess they did not bother, I just sold lot at one point in time.....

If you are a high volume seller even if not a business then would go with waht desert suggested.

Whilst it's true that there is a £1700 lifetime receiving limit on paypal - at least until you remove the limits, that's not the normal way to do it

4.3 Lifting your receiving limit. The transaction receiving limit on your Account is £1,700 (or 2,500 Euro for applicable non-UK Users) per calendar year starting from the date that payment activity first took place on your Account. In order to lift your receiving limit, you must complete the steps set out below. We may also require other information from you to assist us in lifting your receiving limit and you agree to comply with any request for further information as we may reasonably require to enable us to lift this limit.
    1. In the UK: 1) Set up Direct Debit and complete the Random Deposit Process 2) confirm your location via your telephone or post and complete the Expanded Use Programme and 3) for Premier and Business Account holders, provide supplemental business information.

So are you saying you were banned from paypal but not from ebay even though you owe ebay money and they have even started recovery action (or claimed to have done)

    HER,

Roughly how many items do you sell each month?
How much money do you take in each month from these sales?
What sort of items do you sell?
Do you sell stuff that is yours that you no longer want, or do you sell stuff that you have bought to sell?
Are you registered as self employed for this selling?
    Do you work?

I think JimmytheWig is correctly trying to establish whether the seller is or is not in fact a business. £1700 turnover in what looks like quite a short period of time might suggest that the OP isn't in fact just selling their own unwanted items.

If OP is selling new items then they are possibly seen as a business by ebay, and of course if those items were bought to be resold then OP is a business and will need to supply the items required. However this is muddled by the fact that OP has already lost one paypal account and is now using someone elses, so the tax liability might revert to them. There is also the question, as yet unresolved, as to whether the OP is using the original ebay account that was originally the subject of a debt collection attempt, or whether they are trading against the rules from a new account.

I had the exact same email and nearly had a heart attack

However I went into my paypal and I think you go to resolution centre and all I needed to do was add an up to date phone number. I had all that guff about sending receipts and registering as a business as well.

Entered phone number and got a message saying they'd automatically phone me and to enter the 4 digit number that was on the screen, did that and a few minutes later got an email saying all was fine and not had to do anything else.

Have a look and see how you get on as it may not be as bad as you think
