I keep a t-shirt in my car in case I'm out and spill something on the one I'm wearing.

I don't have a spare wheel so i carry a compressor/ inflater and a can of sealant. Microfibre cloth, cd's, a bottle of water a mobile phone/ camera and a gps positioner.
    Don’t be a can’t, be a can.

    For all drives
A pen and a pad for writing emergency notes (make sure your pen works!)
Mobile phone with sufficient credit for at least 30 minutes call
A mobile phone charger which fits the phone you are carrying.
Your insurance details (policy#, phone # etc.)
    Your breakdown company's details
Camera [mobile phone or disposable] - should work when required (battery charged up etc.)
    Engile oil
    Coolant
    Windscreen washer
    Plenty of water
    Gloves
Wet tissue papers [for cleaning in case of emergencies :)]
    Ice scrapper/de-icer [at winter]
A proper spare wheel [many modern cars don't have it]
    Umbrella/rain coat
Road atlast [even if you have sat nav]
    Torch

For long drives [in addition to above list]
    Spare bulbs
    Blanket
    Some food [cookies/chocos etc.]
    Jumper leads
    Portable air compressor/foot pump
    Tow rope
    First Aid kit
    Toolbox
    Chamois leather [for cleaning]
    Fire extinguisher
    Hi-vis jacket
    Warning Triangle
Some old newspapers [for cleaning/soaking/sitting on grass etc.]

If you have a small car and try to keep all these things, you'll run out of space for your luggage :)
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

How organised are all of you?

I have an assortment of Spongebob Squarepants / Dr Who / Beano comics, an assortment of wetsuits, two body boards, some sun cream and several floor cushions in our car (well, actually it's a minibus!).

I did put together a first aid box at some point but don't know what happened to it. I'm going to jot down some ideas from this thread, I would love to be a bit more prepared for things.
  • Whats a good 'emergency pack' to keep in the car?

So far i only have 3 litres of water and an empty plastic milk bottle refilled with screen wash.

What should i keep in my car in the event of accidents or breaking down?
