HELP - I need to set up a website.....

I need to create a website, and would like to make use of a free tool to help me do this. (I'm relatively computer literate, but wouldn't say 'savvy'!)
Googling brings up plenty of options, but what are the ones that others would recommend? I'm after something that will do most of the techie work for me, so I don't end up with multiple frames with nothing wrapping and all that gumph!
Any advice appreciated, I'm feeling a bit0 -
It really depends on what you need the web site for
A good basic WYSIWG is from Serif, free for older versions, also have a look at Net Objects essentials, also free but older version

No doubt others will suggest nvu

or komposer
http://www.kompozer.net/
And someone is bound to suggest you code in HTML using notebookEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -

I've tried reading online blogs and tips but to no avail.. If I could sum up my internet knowledge in one word it would be clueless!
Does anyone have a step by step "idiots" guide of how to set up and design a website that they could point me in the direction of?
Eternally grateful for all responses/help,
MoneyMagician.
Why dont you just set up a myspace page for the team to get started, then you can have time to do your research.
You will need to purchase registration of a domain name. - £5 a year roughly. Web hosting, - £20 - £30 year roughly. Then its time to create your pages and upload. Start by learning some Basic Html and then either use a WYSIWYG editor or download a free web page template to customise into your own.
There are plenty of help/tutorials on the net, don't expect to do it all in one night, there are plenty of tech/web design forums and we're here to help too!
Get stuck in, like i did, i got hooked now im at college gaining qualifications on webdesign! :j0 -
