Unbelievable prices

Having relocated to the Bedford area recently for a new job I keep a keen eye on the property in the surrounding 20 miles or so of my place of work..

Now I'd always thought properties were overpriced anyway, especially being from the south coast! Those plucky EA's at yourmove.com continue to send me details of property in the area that meets my criteria.

Well this morning I received this one, to be honest I was actually pretty shocked at the price they were asking, and even more so when I found out from a colleague that the area is not that great and you have to fight for parking every day!! (plus the decor is very suspect, but thats just my taste)

If this is how the EAs are approaching the downturn in the market then hell knows what the future holds!

Wow, what a property! I suggest you make an offer before the grey-army snap it up.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Actually the decor, though vile doesn't put me off so much. I really don't worry about anything that can be changed reasonably. The first bedroom is a good size, the second a fair size. The downstairs rooms look just about ok. I wonder how it compares to similar in the area.

It just needs the house make over experts from this site and it will be worth £250k:T
  • Expand your search farther to the South, believe me 170K for a 2-bed house won't look expensive.

My mum was orginally from Bedford and I also have relatives that live in Cardington and Wootton. Got to say, personally don't like Bedford myself. Small and dirty and not much industry comes out of it. My grandad used to work at the brick works which used to be the biggest local employer but I think thats gone downhill.

I think that price is astronomical. I live in Gloucester, right on the edge of the Cotswolds and for a house like that here down in the South West are going for £90k+.

I am in complete agreement with you.. completely shocking prices for such a dingy hole.
