Bulldog broadband

I know bulldog have had poor customer service in the past. Has this now improved? On bulldog's current offer,I'm thinking of signing up, taking the 2 months free and free modem and then cancelling if they're no good or just transferring to someone else anyway. I'll have got a free modem and 2 months broadband out of it. Are there any catches? Am I missing something?

You'll have a contractual obligation for 12 months plus you can't move away from Bulldog very easily. Their network is largely based on what's called "LLU" and there's no easy way to get away unless you're prepared to endure copious amounts of downtime.

It's a one month contract as stated on the website. So I presume by that that you're not tied in for 12 months.

It is, as you say, a 1 month contract. I signed up 30/07/05 when it was £1 for a new line, first month completely free, following 5 months is free line rental & £12 off the ADSL. So, 1st month = £0; 2-6 Months = £17.50, 6+ Months = £40. I too got a free modem. Assuming my Be* connection goes in without a problem to replace my PlusNet connection, then I'll be cancelling Bulldog.

With Bulldog's current offer, all you have to pay for the first 2 months is the line rental (£10.50pm). Plus you get 2 month's of UK calls free if you choose the unlimited UK calls (but would need to cancel it after this, or be charged £12pm extra). After month 2, its £40pm as normal.

No they have not. They are still blaming BT about provision, and are still the subject of a Ofcom Enquiry. Would avoid at the moment.

Ever since "bull$hitdog" had been investigated by the watchdog, I havent noticed any imporvements in their CS. Poor communication via email, and poorly written emails (no courteously shown).

In my view, they are more product orientated than customer orientated.
