Looking for a PDA phone of some description.

Can't find anything that works out cheaper than buying the phone sim-free and using the sim from another cashback deal.

Any suggestions?

bit vague on the details of what you want tariff / device wise but the o2 xda models can be had on the online 50 tariff (50 xnet mins / 200 texts for £19pm) for £99 which works out to £327 for the year (12 mth contract) or if you need extra mins / texts they have 100/500 for £25pm (£399) and 200/500 for £30 (£459).

they will do the same deals tariff wise with the SE P910i but charge £49.99 for the handset.

alternatively buy the unit sim free and stick a free o2 pay as you go sim (see multiple threads on this site) for it and use the free minutes and texts deal for topping up £15pm.

    orange will do the SE P910i for £99.99 on a £25pm tariff (200mins/100texts or 100mins/500texts) so that's £400

having a quick look around suggests that you'll be lucky to find a decent pda type device sim free for much less than £300.

so given the vagueness of what you need i'd say the o2 deals look reasonable, especially when compared to buying a sim free unit AND a phone just to get the sim (albeit you could sell the spare handset to recoup some cash - extra hassle though.)

have a look at the scancom deals on the Tmobile MDA (which is the imate jam, but Tmob badged):

Cheapest works out at about £210.
