Hi there,

My OH is desperate to buy a PS3... however he can't really justify spending £300 on a console, when we could buy many other things with the money (i.e. take me away!!! )

Anyway he is seriously contemplating getting a free PS3 with a new phone contract. He currently pays around £30-40 p/m and is with O2. Now he can probably get a retention deal for around £20 p/m or less. His current average usage is around 400 mins/300 texts (but sometimes can be as much as 600mins/500 texts). He also says he's not bothered about a new phone because he is happy with the one he has.

We have had a look around and we have found this deal via carphone Warehouse: Free PS3 on O2, Free samsung E250, 600 mins, 500 text for £30 for 24 months!!! (eek the contract length!)

So the total cost of the contract is £720

Take away £290 (the current cheapest price for PS3), around £20 for the phone (ebay price) and £60 quidco cashback.... that brings the real cost of the contract to £350, which works out as £14.58p/m.

Now that seems like a very good bargain to me..... I just wanted anyone's input before we go ahead with this deal. Is there a catch???

Thanks!!! :T
