i had to go into the notts at the weekend and went to both the boots in town it was pretty much rubbish, becky i don't know how you get so many bargains there.
Found a tiny clearance section and they did have some s&g sets not the steamy one we were all after think it was for feet but they were £7.50 so i left them.
I was very happy though as i found a purple ted baker wash bag. No sticker but the barcode had been crossed out so i knew it was ment to be in the clearance. It scanned at £5 i said thanks but no thanks it's still too much thats not a very good clearance price. I was just walking away when the sa said hold on i'm sure that's not the real price i bet that is the original price i will get somone to check. She was gone ages but came back and yes it's actually ment to be £2 do you want it? YES:j

Does anyone know what price they were i can't find them on .com
I thought they would have been more than £5
:)Mummy to 2 wonderful boys :)

Does anyone know where you can get a cheap contact lens exam, one where they give you the prescription so you can order your lenses online?

I ask because I called Boots re: the health club voucher for a free eye test. Not only does it not cover a consultation for contacts, but it costs £35 for the initial consultation AND they won't give you a prescription to use elsewhere for the first three months -- you *must* buy the contacts from them.

There's gotta be a better deal out there. Anyone?

    Prescription

By law opticians are obliged to provide you with a prescription. Once you have had a thorough eye test they must give you a copy of your prescription without requiring you to make a purchase.

But all opticians charge for contact lenses consultations, you do not get these for free. Not sure why. Maybe a more specialist area, as you are actually putting something into your eye.

Have you looked at the link above? It is also worth signing upto companies like Dolland and Aitchison, they send special offers out, etc.

  • Does anyone know when Olay GWP finishes? Will it be July 1st or July 14th? Am waiting to get my free wipes PC coupon.

    Am planning to get:
    Total effects handcream £4.97
    Regenerist thermal skin polisher £7.50
    cleanser £4.49
    wipes 2.99

Total £20 ish but will try to adjust products to get it nearer to £18

    Use:
    PC 600pts wyb Olay
PC £5 off Olay total effects
    PC free wipes thingy
Max Factor gwp token for £5 off wyb any Olay Regenerist.

This should knock up to £14.49 off around £20 spend and recoup 600pts.
I'm also told there is a 500pt token in the Olay gwp.

    Any tips?

Tesco offer contact lens examination for £10 whereby they give you the prescription but not the measurements? I am not sure what they mean by that but I have my appoiintment booked for this Saturday so I will soon find out!

That sounds a good deal, please report back how it goes! But it does seem like you need the measurements in order to get the contacts elsewhere? I'm not sure as I don't wear them, I'm merely investigating for my hubby. :)

Hiya when you use the MOC coupons in boots what total does it use for final total, if i use the eve one will it use 3.40 or 1.00 towards my total just wondering so i know what to add to get a till spit? thanks xx

    Hi I_am_mad

the til will 'see' £3.40 so you just have to add £1.60. Or, if you have another magazine coupon, for example psychologies, eve or red, buy both magazines, give coupons, pay £2 and you will get a til spit. HTH

I don't know when it ends, but it seems it's just been out a week or two so I would bet it's around for a least a couple of weeks? Or possibly even until they are all gone, as those gwps seem to linger for months.

I think by law they HAVE to give you a prescription!! I have used them before for contact lens checks- I was charged £40 for the consultation and then given a prescription to buy the lenses online. Alternatively, I think if you are going to buy the lenses from them they will give you a discount on the price on the consultation.
They are not allowed to make you buys lenses from them!! Try calling in maybe and having a chat with them. You might have been unlucky and got someone who was unsure of the system when you called

Tiara is right, it is your prescription, you have paid for it, and you can take it anywhere.
