Cheapest way to dial 0870 numbers

I have to call an 0870 number and it's not listed as a geographical number on saynoto870.com. Who is the cheapest operator to use to call the number. I have BT, 18866,1899 and One Tel with free calls at the weekend.

I have set up my orchid dialer to use 18185 during the day and BT for evenings and weekends. I think this is the cheapest way.

BT charge 7.91, 3.95and 1.50p - daytime/evening/weekends. Probably BT is cheapest during the evening and weekend period. 18866 & 1899 are both more expensive than BT at anytime.

http://www.18185.co.uk/index2.php is cheapest during daytime period, ie 4p. Also note that there is a 4p connection charge. At the weekend it's slighly more expensive than BT.

There are other ways to get geo numbers,if they exist, what is the company and or the number?

The cheapest way is to use your or a friends o2 mobile with inclusive minutes.

You pay for the inclusive minutes when you buy your monthly line rental.Lets say you were on 02 200 at £30 a month the calls would be costing you 15p a minute!!!! Even on O2 max they would be 7.5p a min!!!

I know that, but they are paid for anyway No-one would get a contract for making 0870 calls, just not everyone is aware of this.

btw, I am on o2 contract for £8 with 400 minutes, hows your calc look now

I agree with you. Because you have already paid for the minutes on o2, effectively if you use some of those minutes to satisfy the need to call 0870 numbers, then it is so that you have made a 'notional' saving.

Point taken pricefighter,

BUT if you use a mobile, then it is a big advantage making it an O2 one, for that reason alone. Especially if you have to call 0870etc numbers whilst out and about.

If you are on other networks you can pay 30pish a min on top of your contract rate, as they are NOT inclusive. Can come as a shock on the first statement if you forget.
Here's hoping they (o2) dont realise this.

Hang over from being part of BT, their customer services is 087 sadly.

Using a line rental rebate deal means my 0870 are effectively free ! ( so long as dealer pays up rebates)
