Don't know whether this will help but you can text Australia for 1p a text through the Internet on https://www.18185.co.uk You have to register but its very simple and it does work.I use it a lot to text Cyprus friends. Most countries are 1p a text through this system.Hope this helps you.Better to light a candle than to curse the darkness. :beer:0

I believe that 18185 will exercise a fair use policy if you send too many and then the charge rises to 6p (?) but that is still cheaper.0

Yes see: http://www.18185.co.uk/sms.php
"We reserve the right after a certain amount of (SMS) to start charging sms for the default rate (FUP) "
If you dont want to open a 18185 a/c. Orange PAYG Camel Tariff. Charges 15p a text to OZ.

I use Vyke.com, which is brilliant. you get a $1 for free and each sms costs 2 cents....0

Another option is SMS Listo (http://www.smslisto.com/en/index.html), which offers 90 days of free texting to countries including Australia with every purchase of call credit.
Their fair use policy is similar to that of 18185, although they don't specify the rate that will be charged once the free texts expire.
You can send messages either using the SMS Listo application, or from their website.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon

most AU telco charge same domestic & international rate on texts out of cap plans like T-mobs Flext even on PAYG over there
downfall is nowhere do you get a txt plan on contract like UK & Flext is much better value than any of AU contracts for texting
all AU networks charge a 25 cent connection on every call ( 10p) payg or contract
aswell as usually being billed in 30 sec intervalsSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
