    I've been Money Tipped!
My job keeps me away from the shops during the day. Saves a pile of money.

Absolutely nothing really unless we are counting checking my email at lunchtime. I work in education and there are no perks.

Well, not quite. I don't have to put the heating on at home when I'm at work. Would be better if the radiator in my office actually worked, but there's no money for repairs unless they've been leaking water for over three months.

I get free black coffee. Must save me all of about 5p a day.

I've got a vitamin D deficiency for free, though. I'm not the only one at work, either - it's the not being able to be outside during the day and the dress code.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

The benefit of working term time only on the whole. Access to all kinds of useful resources that I can share with my family and friends. Free tea and coffee. Free parking. Working in a place with over 200 people there are regularly free cakes in the staffroom celebrating the latest birthday. All good.
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

What I *don't* get is a parking space. I'd trade all the other benefits for one of these, even the free fruit and toast.

Do get to park for free but would only be there to work so don't see it as a perk.

Can have some fruit if there is any left after the children have snack - setting a good example at school! (there is always plenty-often throwing it out rotten or sending them home with extra!) Must save money on my lunch.

Other perk is Xmas/end of year presents from the children - never expected but always appreciated. Not sure it saves me money though as tend to just eat more chocolate etc.
  • The only perk of my job is the laptop... I honestly can't think of another perks. I work from home yet my company won't pay for my Internet/heating/electricity costs.

Thankfully I get to take advantage of all my wife's NHS discounts!

You are not saving money you are thieving , pure and simple. There is no defense for it ( as I am sure you will come back with some excuse to justify it )
I doubt they will as this thread is from 2004 and they were last online in 2007

I get paid 45p/mile and can do up to 1000 miles per month, which means around £250 after car costs. I also get a meal up to the value of £15 if I work away overnight or get home after 8pm, as I can plan my own diary that means a lot of late finishes!
