Since a great many of us work hard for our money I wondered how many people save money because of where they work.
I work in a printers for example and so have not had to pay for magazines since I started working here. Let me tell you the costs of magazines soon mount up!
When I moved house I got all my packing boxes and wrapping paper free as well.
I also rather bizzarely managed to get a 2 year supply of black bin liners when a box acidentally fell into my hands.
If I need ear plugs I can get them free as well.
And don't get me started on the stationary cupboard!
I know everyone has obvious perks which i'd love to hear about - but how about the less obvious perks.
I think the feedback could be hillarious.

When I worked in a cafe I hardly ate any food from home, all my meals were free ;D
And.....errrrrr.........that's it ;DBulletproof0 -
I used to work in property managment & deal with properites after the tenants vacated them. You'd be amazed at what people would leave behind.....cleaning supplies, plants, food, gift wrap, candles, clothes, books & magazines, bit sof furniture, toels & bed linen, once a whole box of really posh Xmas decorations & a tree stand! We would advise the outgoing tenants what they had left & give them a week to collect it from our offices after which time if became a free for all amongst the staff!
Then I changed jobs, now I just get "free" internet access, all the "free" stationary I can fit in my handbag & ...er...(I blush to admit this)... "free" loo rolls & tea bags in an emergency:-[
Edit : Just thoguht, now I work in a town centre (well, high street, no shopping centre as such) & I do get the option of checking the reduced racks in 2 supermarkets, Boots & Smiths 5 days a week which accounts for lots of cheap Xmas presents, does this count?Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
I get free gym membership at work, so I guess that saves me quite a bit.
I have to go down to London about once a month for work, so I try to tie it in with a weekend staying with friends, so I get a "free" trip to see my friends.
My old work uniform is recycled among the family - my nephew gets my old tracksuit bottoms (bog standard Reebok navy blue) for rugby training & my sister loves our trendy skinni-rib fleece jackets - she just unpicks the embroidered logo!
I also get "first pickings" of the lost property box!0 -
um, well i work at mcdonalds so i get free food at lunchtime ... not sure if you'd call it a perk, lol!52% tight0

Are you sure about that? It seems to me that a large percentage of the 'perks' mentioned so far are dishonest. I'm often amazed at what happens in some workplaces.0
