travel money - help?

Hi there this is the first time I have posted, but wanted to take advantage of all the money savvy out there.

Going on holiday to Benidorm in a few weeks but with money being tight want to make sure getting the most from the euro, and dont want to waste a lot of money.

For £1,000 I dont know whether to take all Euros,
or £x euros + remainder in travellers cheques
or £x euros + take my debit card (if so which is the best bank to use to avoid charges etc).
or £x euros + take my credit card

looking at a couple of websites it appears that the exchange rate is around 1.21 or 1.22 is this right? where is the best place to shop for travel money?

I would appreciate your help.

I work for a foreign exchange company at an airport so I might be able to help you out. From experience you should buy currency from a repuatable foreign exchange company online. The company I work for can get you 1230 euros for £1000 so a rate of 1.23. This can either be collected from the airport or delivered to your home at no extra cost and is commission free.

Don't take travellers cheques, yeah they are safer but there are often charges to change these and if you lose your money your travel insurance should cover this loss.

Don't buy your currency from an airport at the last minute! The rates are much lower and they tend to charge commission as well.

Also, find a place where the buy back X amount at the same rate you paid thus meaning if you bring some back you get more for your money.

First Choice charge you £3.50 and then give you the selling rate on the first £200 you bring back.

    HI there!

I'm going to move your post to the travel forum as it's not really a DFW topic - have a great holiday though!

I work for International Currency Exchange, they send the currency by special delivery so I think they would deliver to Northern Ireland, we have no branches in Northern Ireland but I can't see why they wouldn't deliver over there.

Hiya, sorry to ask but do you have any idea how long it takes for money to return to someones account if they have cancelled their order with your company?

I have had to do this today and it's too late to call them up now to find out, thanks!
