the new phone is locked to Tesco's Network, the phone needs unlocking from that network for a fee
you may be able to copy the numbers from the old sim to the old phone , then put in the tesco sim card and copy from the phone to that sim card

Or you can buy a device which can back up your contacts. I believe there are stand alone devices as well as those which connect to a computer.
