Virgin Cable - How Long Will it Take?

Hello MSE people!
I am moving to a new home in three weeks time and the OH and I were planning on taking advantage of the 20mb cable broadband available in the area we're moving to. The previous owner already had a Virgin cable box attached to the wall in the flat we're purchasing, though it's not currently active. I was wondering if that will make any difference to how long it will take for it to be activated?
Anyone help? ^^

They will still need to send an engineer out with a wireless router or cable modem to install and activate it. I moved into a flat where the previous occupant had virgin media and they came round the day after I moved in, but I had phoned them before I moved in.0

Oh super. I'll give them a call today then and get it set up for someone to drop round soon after I move.

Just make sure, that before the installer leaves, you are up and running on the internet.
Dont let him/her leave saying "you will have to phone CS to activate" or suchlike.-its not always as easy as they say.0
