Free McFly Album with a Sunday Paper

What's it about?
Buy The Mail on Sunday this weekend (20 July) for £1.50 and in it you'll get a CD copy of pop band McFly's latest album 'Radio: ACTIVE' for free.
The album has 12 totally new tracks on it, so if you're a fan this is a bargain
Why's it doing this?
The band's releasing another version with four extra tracks and a bonus DVD in September, so it'll be hoping people listen and like the free copy, then take the plunge when the second edition comes out... and that's currently available for pre-order on Play.com for £8.95 including delivery.
This post has been inserted to give a researched explanation. Many thanks to MoneySaver Scarlett25 for the top spot!
From Martin... And thanks to MSE Dan for fighting McFly's corner so articulately, without him it would've just gone in the e-mail as one of the quick forum notes... but he persuaded us, this is music everyone should hear!

Poor man's Busted !
I had a discussion with my mate about this, and I still rate Busted higher...0 -
They are just fab, don't knock em til you've tried it. Both daughters fans and i must say i don't think they're too bad either0
-
whats the point of talking about Busted? Busted are gone, McFly are here. Busted will stay as they always were, McFly are progressing.0
-
Same. I don't mind McFly but they're a total Busted rip-off.
thats where youre wrong... sure they have lots of similar things (boyband, guitars, write their own songs, etc) but if you listen to the two bands, you will spot some massive differences.
busted were always about the US punk-pop, whereas mcfly are more influenced by 70s rock (and to some extent, glam). busted songs tend to sound like green day, blink 182 but with more of a pop edge. mcfly sound more like the beach boys and the who (and even jellyfish, who they covered.. but there are several mcfly songs that wouldnt sound out of place on a jellyfish album (who in turn were heavily influenced by 70s glam/rock)
I just feel dirty that i'll probably end up buying the mail this sunday. i might just illegally download it to feel better about myself (i've already preordered the proper version).. i *really* hate the daily mail!0 -
