    Definitely use in chutney. +
I also put a splash in a beef stew/curry - it helps tenderise the meat.

    Hi,
Anyone got any uses for the left behind vinegar from pickled things ?
Would it serve well to make a dressing with ? Any other ideas ?
    Thanks:rotfl: :rotfl:

I've just reused the spiced vinegar from my favourite brand of pickled shallots like this - I sliced some cucumber fairly thickly and packed it into the pickle jar (liquid still in) with some slices of onion. I shall leave it a couple of weeks and then use in cheese or corned beef sandwiches.

    :o

I pour the vinegar over thick cut, homemade chips :drool:

    I know it's not a recipe, but it's delicious.

I have some 3 year out of date vinegar (for pickling or table use apparently) it smells really odd :p

So before I chuck it, what could I use it for?

    Over to you tightwads :D
