I'm afraid this is normal. I have even tried at 7.30am and been put on hold. I have never yet been able to speak to a real person! I have also emailed and they don't answer that either.
In fact the only time I get an email is when they want me to sign up to the BG Price Freeze - that'll be right!0 -
its over 1 hour 45 mins now.....still on hold
ive used saynoto0870 to get the geogrphical number and phoned using 1899...so its luckily not cost me more than 3p....just cant believe that i am still on hold

I've been put on hold with them a few times but never that long. Did you get through in the end? What about if you were in a call box or on a mobile? On the back of the bill there is an address for complaints. If I were you I would write to them and ask for a reimbursement on your gas bill otherwise you'll go to another company.
