Yes, it is brilliant when you have a cold. It helps keep your nose clear and stops (or clears up quickly if you don't use it soon enough) that horrible soreness you get with a runny nose.

You can apparently rub it on your forehead to relieve a headache but I've never tried that. I really use it just like Vick although it is supposed to have scope for much wider usage than that.

    Here is some more info:

I've used it for muscle rub and it worked!

Apparently using Tiger Balm is just as effective as taking paracetamol for headaches:

It's great for headaches because it helps to contract the blood vessels in the forehead.
A little tip is if you want to avoid hang overs apply a little bit to your forehead before drinking and it work's a treat!!

Well it worked for me anyway!!

I've been using tiger balm since I discovered it in India backpacking....um....years ago..... - works fab on headaches (rub on your forehead and temples and feel the pain ease away!) and also mosquito bites - stops the itching. Just whatever you do, don't get it too close to your eyes as it'll make them run like hell!

Tiger Balm is the only thing that works on my migraines. My mother in law introduced me to it in the 70's, she was from India and swore by it and used it on EVERYTHING! Its more expensive than vick, jar for jar, but does far more than vick could ever do.
Sorry to say though alared, the one from Poundland is pure rubbish. If you'd ever used the proper stuff you'd know. I bought 5 jars in £ shop and had to sell them on at a car boot sale for 20p each!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I get mine at the local Chinese store, costs about £5.75 and worth every cent.
