Thanks Cassey, it really does feel great, the head handled it better than i anticipated. I'm glad i did it though, for my own sanity, i was starting to think that maybe i was depressed and didn't know it, however as soon as i had handed my notice in i felt hugely better and am back to my normal cheery self. Am off to phone my old work place up on monday, if i don't hear from any of these jobs and see if they want me to do any days supply there until half term. I know they will say yes as everytime i see them they offer me my job back. I wouldn't go back there full time, but just to get some money together.

I am glad you feel better and back to your normal self. Its good that you have got a job to fall back on.

Sorry to hear things are not so good, Cleosmum – hope they get better for you soon. :o

Andan – I’m pleased you have handed your notice in. It sounds like a great weight has lifted from you, and I’m sure you will find something else (better!) soon. ;)

    Today I have:
    • Done piggyclicks and lightspeed surveys
    • Eaten all meals from storecupboard/freezer
    • Checked online banking
    • Sent cheque to surgeon (something PPP Healthcare decided not to cover – again! – for my operation last year…)
    • “Gone green” on my bank account (HSBC) for which I have been promised £5 in my account some time in the next 21 days… :T
I haven’t posted much this week, because I have been trying to get my head round the fact that last Friday evening I was told I was going to be made redundant. Then they said that I had the choice of either leaving or cutting down to 2 days a week (for 2/5 of my salary, etc, obviously!). To say I was shocked is an understatement, but I’ve come to terms with it in the last few days, and worked Monday and yesterday (and will be doing the same going forwards) – working on the theory that 2/5 of a salary is better than no salary until something else can be found! Today was my first “free” day at home…

Over the last few days, we have struck a deal with Sky and reduced our monthly payment, cancelled various “non-essential” items from our monthly expenditure, and done our weekly shop at the market and Lidl, with additional top-ups from Tesco and Asda (but all researched on the internet to get the best deals in each place!). We do have a "plan B" at the back of our minds, which will probably be put into action over the next few weeks, but either way I am determind that we will get through this and come out the other side smiling… :D

Wow, that must have been a shock! Sounds like you are well on top of it all, well done! And well done on plan b - mine is to win the lotto, but that would require me to actually buy a ticket and I would rather save the quid lol.

I can't lie - it was a shock and I was pretty bitter about it (I go in early, stay late and regularly work through lunch - about 10-15hrs a week, all unpaid, and my boss contacts me at all hours at home/on my mobile in the evenings and at weekends for the slightest thing! :wall: ). My colleague who works to rule, and regularly refuses to do things for people, has kept her job...go figure!?!

Still, you live and learn, and I've realised that crying, screaming and being bitter isn't causing anybody else pain but me, so it had to stop! :naughty:

    Onwards and upwards...!!
