Me too!! If I didn't have 3 kids to get to school I'd be up 'til the early hours and in bed 'til 9/10 am. According to Professor Winston (on one of his programmes)people are either larks or owls.Me, OH and kids are all owls. My kids are always the the only ones still going past 9pm at parties.

Thanks for all the late riser support. AS for the 'if the site and your work wasn't going so well would you have got up' :)

Yes absolutely I would. But Im already working m'little cotton (actually they're not really cotton but you get the point) socks off - so don't need to.

Back in the old days when I was one fo the Business Editors on the today programme i worked a 3am to 3pm shift, and before that as a Radio 5 Business Day Editor I did 9pm till 9am shifts. So i've done m'early mornings ;)

  • 9am???? thats not late! that's the middle of the night for me!

After 6 years of shift work in bar management my body clock is permanently topsy turvy to the point where i specifically look for shift work.

I go to bed between 5am and 9am and get up around 12-2 lol

Some nights i don't sleep at all just don't wind down and have an hours nap about 3.

If I have an early appointment eg doc at 10am I will stay up and go to bed after. My work has shifts that start at 8am/2pm/4pm everyone else hates the 4pm shifts so I get them all.

Cotton is better for your feet.

When I worked shifts I had to start at around 4am sometimes, this was always getting up in the middle of the night, however when I went in for 5am ish onwards it could almost be conceived to be morning.

My kids' school now starts at 8.30am which is devastating for me as I have to get up early and can never get to bed earlier, I just have less sleep.

Going by research etc they say that we get most work done/most productive 8 hours after waking up, something to do with biorythms or something. I'm a night person and can get by on 4/5 hours sleep during the week. So long as I get 6 hours at the weekend then I'm fine. Some people are bright and breezy in the mornings, others are unapproachable before lunchtime and several cups of coffee. I'm usually bright eyed and bushy tailed at 6am.

Judging by some of your responses on here, I thought some of you might like my favourite poem. Being the scatty person I am, I had lost it, so thanks to Rush as I found it in one of her posts:

    I'm not a morning person....

    I woke early one morning,
The earth lay cool and still
    When suddenly a tiny bird
    Perched on my window sill,
He sang a song so lovely
    So carefree and so gay,
    That slowly all my troubles
    Began to slip away.
He sang of far off places
    Of laughter and of fun,
    It seemed his very trilling,
    brought up the morning sun.
    I stirred beneath the covers
    Crept slowly out of bed,
    Then gently shut the window
    And crushed his ruddy head.

    :rotfl:

    I'm not a morning person

As you can imagine, 'ruddy' isn't in the original wording, lol!

didn't martin say he got a cab when he went to the wright stuff studios at 7am! however the show airs at 9am...so is martin saying he doesn't start 'official' work until 9am i wonder.

also another pondering thought, and i'm probably naive, but if martin finished work st 3am each day, starting at 9am...where doe the hours all go?!
