Moving to o2

Yesterday I obtained my MAC from BT and rang o2 to organise the changeover. My Welcome Pack arrived today! I organised this all with a UK call centre and received various text messages telling me what was happening. Hopefuly I shall be on line with o2 in around 5 days. So far the service has been exceptional.

Can anyone tell me whether I can still use the BT router I already have rather than changing to the o2 one? Obviously I would have to change the settings but that would be less bother than actually changing the router.

i was thinking of using my netgear router so rang o2 and asked o2 to email me the settings for it, which they did, but i've decided to just stick with o2's for now,
but not sure if they would do the same for bt router no harm in asking though

check this forum for settings for various routers that are known to work with Be/O2 services. Will get much more info than from the support centres. I use a BT Business Hub on Be (same infrastructure as O2) and it works fine (and syncs better than the router they provided)

I am currently changing over from Pipex to o2 broadband (I think it's the right choice and it's better than paying £24.99 for 8MB speed =( ).

Received my welcome pack. Text messages keeping me up to date.

I've been very pleased with the change over so far.

Now I've just got to wait for my o2 broadband service to start.

Just wondering how is the internet service from o2? good/bad??
  • MAC21 - I am in the same situation as you - paying £7.99 for O2 rather than £24,99 for Pipex!

However, just called pipex and they will not supply me with my MAC code - did u manage to get yours?!!
