I may even buy you a beer to thank you...

Many thanx.

How about doing what is tells you to do in the user manual? Some poor sod has written it, so why don't you follow the step by step instructions given?

If you have the talktalk Huwai MT882 modem you have wasted your time and money. it already has a firewall built in :- download the user manual, page 26

Sorry espresso, I did try. I wouldn't be on here asking otherwise.
It's not clear. I'm not an idiot but I couldn't make head nor tail and I did actually try connecting things but couldn't get it to work. But, as I said earlier, I am not 100% familiar with Windows Vista and it seemed to be written pre-Vista anyway.
spinybif, not with TalkTalk, with Tesco and have a Thomson Speedtouch 300 modem connected right now which I will remove and replace with the Dynamode R-ADSL-C4-W-G1 as it has wireless. If I can get it to work that is!
Anyway, sorry folks for bothering you... :embarasseThe world is full of crashing bores...0 -

I am not familiar with that make/model of router but they are all very similar to install and set up.
Disconnect the USB modem.
Connect the router to your PC using the Ethernet cable supplied and enter the routers IP address i.e. 192.168.1.1 (given in the manual) into your browser.
Log into the router (details for your model given in the manual).
Enter your ISP's login details (username/password) and click connect.
Navigate to the wireless settings page and change the SSID from it's default name (i.e. Dynamode R) and enter your own unique network name i.e. Blackqueen007
Get a random passphrase from here and save it to a notepad file and copy & paste this into the WPA encryption box to encrypt your wireless network.
Copy & paste this same passphrase into any PC that you wish to connect to your wireless network.
Read the manual but it's easy! Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
