Well, HSBC is the last credit card - then we have 5 loans......2 of those can be overpaid without hassle and without penalty, so I will be concentrating on those, then the other three will be "save up and pay off early" with a penalty in due course.

Hi everyone, well my egg card has just gone on to my o/d today n i now feel sick looking at my online banking. I know i'll prob clear it alot quicker as i've got my cashback to claim, n have just found £6 in an account i'd totally forgotten about but still, this time next wk my o/d will be -£800 eeek. Still a lot cheaper than paying interest on egg card tho will have easily have save £250 by trasfering it to my o/d which makes me feel better. My aim is to have this cleared by xmas now instead of my cat. I can still plod on with that one n make small overpayments (if i have anything spare). Just really hope i get one of these jobs i've applied for.
Everyone else seems to be doing really well with this challenge. Hopefully next month will be a better month for me:o

Well done on transferring your debt to your OD it sounds a much cheaper option.

Are you going to get the bank to reduce your overdraft limit each time you clear a bit?

Yay OH got paid his overtime today so that's an extra £200 going in the bank towards o/d.
Doodledo - have asked my bank many times before to reduce my o/d and they never have. TBH tho my intrest free period runs out on my visa not long after xmas so would be cheaper to transfer remainder of that to my o/d too, but we'll see how i get on first. I hate having an o/d so for me its more of an incentive to pay it off quicker coz i see the horrible minus figure everytime i go to the bank.
Just emailed home of research too, so should be getting another cheque for £20 soon.

  • Hi - We've now paid off Egg too:j . So that's M&S paid off, Egg paid off, next challenge is Barclaycard which should be repaid within the next 6 weeks. Then left with 3 main cards (2 are with the same provider)

Overdraft is a bit up and down, but have cut back in a number of areas so once the cashback sites start paying out then I should be quids in as they say... and life will get a bit easier. Still not listed anything on e-bay, greenman or amazon or buy and sell. Still trying to work myself up to that...

Nickynoo - good idea about the visa/overdraft definately worth keeping your options open if it's going to save you some interest. I know exactly what you mean about negative numbers. We use our overdraft every month as its interest free at the moment, but I can't wait till the debts are gone and we have paid it back and I see figures in the black lol.

Savingholmes - well done two cards paid off is a brilliant achievement :T

Have paid another little bit off. Have more to pay off during the week. I'd say I will scrape through my challenge but at least the money is going down!
