have you ever had to pay import tax?
I haven't, if you tell them that you want to avoid it they may bring it over with them on their next visit. He tends to do the rounds every six weeks.0 -
i've been reading the posts about these guys with interest. I want to get one for my partner but i just wondered if you have to pay for the suit when you're measured for it or do you pay for it when you pick it up from them?and can you pay a deposit and then pay the rest at the end?0

Me and my friends actually just had some done like you mentioned from another tailors and I paid 50% up front and I told them I'd transfer the rest in a few weeks. The people who came to measure me were from https://www.crowntailor.com. About a month ago I had similar issues like yours too, but now I guess if my suits turn out alright, then I would have found myself a new personal tailor! hehe0

I ordered two "bespoke suits" I am still being re measured after almost two years. They sent me to their "special tailor" in Victoria. He stitched two pieces of velcro into the trouser pockets to stop them from sticking out. The material was not cut properly and that was the only way he could sort it. The buttons are falling off the suits. The thing is, I haven't worn them yet. I will probably give up and reclaim my money from my CC - Mint are not very helpful as you might imagine. My advice don't go there! I read the other messages so maybe I am just unlucky. BTW I paid £732 for two suits and a spare pair of trousers - I think its good material. They are quite slimy because they ask your job you do and price accordingly - cheeky or what??0

My advice to people is haggle hard with these people. If you do this, you should be able to get two suits for around the £400 to £500 mark (my last two orders have been £400 and £450).
Don't expect the suits to fit perfectly first time round (although this is not out of the question). However they are always happy to make any necessary adjustments to get the suits looking how you want them.0 -
My advice is to do a little search on the internet or in the listings of your local paper to find a local seamstress or tailor that will do the same job for a similar price and be on hand for the long term AND keep jobs and pounds in Britain - as we go into a recession pulling together and spending your hard earned money in this country will in the long run benefit yourself by lessening the recession.
Obviously if you don't have anyone near you, then it's a great way to get good clothing, however first and foremost support local! It can be cheaper than you think. (especially with import duties to pay)Do not feed the trolls please.0 -
After a heart attack a year ago, I have been working very hard to lose weight, and my wardrobe is in constant transition. Fortunately, a co-worker suggested that I try Tailor Pro-which happens to be on the ground floor of my apartment(somerset lake Point). I have to say that my experience has been very consistent and very good. In a world where hand tailoring and a sense of style are increasingly rare, the owner of this family run business has both in abundance. They do good work, they care about their customers, they meet their promise dates, and their prices are reasonable. This place has already saved me a fortune--and made me feel better about myself. How do you beat that?
Pros: These people know what looks good and they have the skill to do it
Cons: Parking is obviously a problem, and they do get pretty busy at peak times0 -
i feel since there are many online custom tailors from bangkok providing their services all over the world, perhaps you can try jiodar.com, providing services in much better and reliable way.. i think you will go upto your desires..0
