Its apparently quite common that they ask for a bond according to something I read on their website.
Do you have telewest connections already in the house ?. At my old address there wasn't any connection so they wanted a £200 bond, probably to offset connection costs (approx £400 per property to connect a property, Ive heard), at my new house , the cables where in place and no bond was asked for.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0 -

I signed up for the 2 for £20 offer the beginning of September, I was told I needed to show two utility bills, later told I passed their credit check with flying colours and didn't need to show any bills, nor require a deposit.
This was a new connection. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
no cis there are no connections on the house so i take it that is why they asked for the bond. looks like im going to have to stump it up. unless anyone knows of any other good deals that i could get ???
