If you have the above phone and you can not stand how it looks after your network has done all the horrid things they do to them, i got mine from orange and the menue looks terrible and there home screen is ***, and you want it to look as HTC intend then download the HTC theme and HTC Plug in from this link http://www.pocketpcfreeware.mobi/download-htc-home-plugin-v1-0.html You can download the theme and the menue screen from here.
Download to your desktop and then send it via usb or bluetooth if you have bluetooth on your pc / laptop
I was going to de brand it but have seen some bad reports about what happens. With the HTC theme and plug in it looks fab. The theme will be saved in:
Start > settings > today > HTC new default (in the box with the other themes)
If you also go to www.htcfreeware.com you can get loads of applications to useon your phone, games etc.
The HTC plug will be saved in:
Start > Programs > file explorer.
Scroll down and tap HTC-HOME-PL and it wll install for you.
Once installed go to
Start > Settings > today > items and select HTC home. (in the box where you choose what is in the start menue)
Once done you will have the menue looking as it should not orange and a crap menuend the tv tax0 -
AS this is linked to HTC devices, i am raising a question. I have recently got HTC TYTN II. The device is working weel, however, i am having wifi connectivity problems, in teh sense that it does not connect tomt home wifi network thriugh the Tiscali provided Siemens SE 587 router in security enables mode. I have tried the WEP and WPA keys. In open mode it connects.
On resrting the device it connects for few seconds and as soon as i try to use it for any application it disconnects.
Strangely in my office network in connects in WEP mode.
Can anyone help.
Thanks

The TyTN II should support all formats of WiFi and all types of encryption. The differences between your phone working at home and at work could be due to incorrect settings.
If you reset the settings by going to
Start -> Settings -> Connections -> WiFi
and hold-clicking on the connection and selecting "remove settings". Then enable wifi and it should ask for the details it needs (if any). If it doesn't ask for a passkey, it doesn't need one and your network is open. If it does ask for one, give it whatever key you have an if it is correct it will configure itself by selecting the correct option.
I'd be surprised if there were problems. If there are, reset the router and do the above again. If symptoms still persist, I'd suggest that the problem is due to inadequate signal more than anything else.*I reserve the right to have an opinion, the right to change this opinion and the right to be wrong.*Hope that helps. Check out www.htcfreeware.com and www.freewarepocketpc.net for great apps and software, themes and skins.
My fav is this http://www.htcfreeware.com/HTC/download/HTC-freeware/HTC_homeplug_v1.0.aspx as the home screen that orange put on was rubbish and there is a black theme to go with it http://www.htcfreeware.com/HTC/download/HTC-Themes/Black_Skin.aspx
Simply save to your comp / laptop and transfer via bluetooth, activesync or just go to the websites on your htcend the tv tax0 -
What is much more amusing is...
http://forum.xda-developers.com
It's where most of that stuff on other sites seems to turn up first. There or https://www.modaco.com, both are fairly well frequented HTC related forums. The XDA Dev site also has a wiki that contains large numbers of useful registry edits that can improve your HTC phone.
And there are things like Kaiser Tweak that can do these things without requiring you to use a registry editor.
And most of it is free and legit (they have a firm anti-piracy policy), plus they will help you if/when you break your phone.
And then there is http://htcclassaction.org/. This is one to watch as it has just brought out a beta 3D driver for the Kaiser/TyTN II. Am looking forward to the full release*I reserve the right to have an opinion, the right to change this opinion and the right to be wrong.*Hope that helps. If you got your HTC TYTN 11 from Orange etc check their websites as you can get Windows Mobile 6.1 upgrade. It adds stuff to you phone and the new 6.1 will give you a bit of extra bat life.
For you orange users go to http://www2.orange.co.uk/servlet/Satellite?c=OUKPage&catID=1096364420631&cid=1096359217080&pagename=OUKPersonal&pid=1096364420640&product=Feature&t=Product
If you got it sim free go to www.htc.com and select support and download software, pick your phone and off you go.end the tv tax0 -
Also available for those of you on O2 from....
http://xda.o2.co.uk/software_updates.jsp
This has WM 6.1 for the Stellar. I upgraded in early July and it seems a bit more stable. Still don't know whether I prefer the threaded SMS mode or not
Word of warning (beause the instructions are some times a little ambiguous or imply otherwise) - Upgrading does wipe your device. Make sure you have a backup of your data as well as any installers for the applications you use.*I reserve the right to have an opinion, the right to change this opinion and the right to be wrong.*Hope that helps.
