I presume it's supposed to rise, yes?
Looks like 4 flat biscuits on the baking tray!
Shall taste later, but it's not looking too good.
Could sprinkle with caster sugar and call it shortbread I guess!

Mine doesn't rise a great deal. The taste and crumble test will tell you all you need to know :)

Pastry was v.v. good. Light, crumbly and very tasty. Even the kids said it was nice, so it must be OK. Thanks for your help guys.

Hi peeps Right come on then! How in gods name do i make puff pastry???Reason being (i know some of you are sat saying just go and get the ready made stuff) but i cant.I have a really bad nut allergy and if it says on the packet 'made on a production line using nuts' i usually have to avoid it. Thing is my bf absolutely loves pies etc adn id love to make him a homemade mince and onion pie using puff pastry. I can make shortcrust pastry for a sweet pie but want to try doing puff pastry - this could turn into a Mr Bad Example style thread so please bear with me!!
    Time to find me again

    Hi Sammy,

There are some recipes and good links on this older thread:

I want to make puff pastry. Am I mad?

I'll merge your thread with that one later to keep all the recipes together.
