Think I am going to be seriously out of pocket....

Help! I will bullet point to make it clearer........
  • Bought a motorbike a month ago on ebay
  • Decided to get a car licence instead, so relisted on ebay, using description and photos from original listing (Yes I now know I was not allowed to)
  • Listing ended at 4.50pm today, only 1 bid, but sold
  • Email from ebay at 5.10, saying that I had infringed copyright, all bids cancelled (it sold 20 mins before?!?!?) and all parties informed. Email stated listing fees etc refunded
  • FVF still charged!!!! It states Final fixed valuation fee £17.39, but actually appears on my invoice as a flat £20?!
So what do I do now? I have lost the bidder (who I think was going to be NPB anyhoo) lost the listing, and been charged! This woudl all make far more sense if it ahd happened ebfore the auction ended........?

It wasn't the bike itself - it was the description & photos lifted from previous listing

FVF for motors is a minimum £20 (and maximum £35)
    (Edit: £17.39 plus VAT @ 15% luxembourg rate = £20)
Normally you can still arrange to sell if the listing is pulled after the auction has ended - but it needs the co-operation of the buyer. If you think the buyer was not going to pay anyway, you're snookered sorry.
Try contacting ebay CS in an apologetic & grovelling manner and they might give you your FVF back

What made you think buyer would not pay anyway?? If that was the case and he was the only bidder then the bike would not have sold anyway!!

I’m probably wrong but re-using the previous the previous listing doesn’t seem so bad given it was the same bike being resold

Well, that's what I thought, they weren't going to need it again, it's not like they could be selling lots of identical, the bike was 24 years old!!

But I would not have been charged £20 final valuation fee!!

I am not sure they would have completed, as:
    a) 0 feedback
    b) the item was collection only.......they were approx 250 miles away
    c) at the end of the auction I called the number ebay had listed for them (due to a and b above) and it was a fakey!

List again with your own pictures (make them good!) and start the price at £20 more than what you want.. then you will get the fees back. Good luck
    I :heart::coffee:
