How long is a piece of string?! Everyone likes different cameras.
I suggest you read some magazines and reviews.

Personally I'd start to look at Canon's and Panasonic's...
prices: www.camerapricebuster.co.uk
etc etc...0 -
a peice of string is twice the length if you fold it in half from the middle and then measure it, so if I know that do you think someone could be more helpful than that comment...Thank you I was only asking for guiedance not a lecture.0

What do you want to use it for?Stompa0

looking to buy for my daughter, she has a boyfriend who plays proffessinal sport so it would need to be able to take action shots0

I'm also looking for a camera... So far i've found a few that I quite like which all seem to have really good reviews,
This website has helped me:

So far, i've found the Panasonic DMC-FS3 (Aroun £120... possibly cheaper on ebuyer and/or play.com) and the Canon Ixus 75 seems pretty good too
also, this website has some good reviews too

Hope you find the one you want0 -
is it small enough to carry in small bag0

The cameras I've mentioned are compact cameras and therefore will fit into a bag pretty easily
At the moment i'm swaying slightly into buying the Panasonic one, here is the review:

Although I don't know much about cameras, I know the basics and it sounds like a good camera for the money and the reviews are all quite good0 -

Charming. I posted 3 helpful links, yet you responded like that to a jokey comment. That sort of response here will not gain you friends, nor good advice - and is it any wonder?
You question is utterly vague, there are many of threads about which camera's to buy, so I assume first you searched the forum.
With vague requirements, you need to have a look through magazines and reviews.
If you find that advice a lecture, then you might as well go into Currys with a similar question and get ripped off.
You need to add detail to your request, budget, requirements (one's all singing all dancing, is another's basic features), low light usage, long zoom, wide angle, image stabilisation.0
