Cheap Restaurant Voucher/Deals: Report top spots

Thank you for recommending the Chez Gerard offer, I have a warning about the terms and conditions.

I used it yesterday at their branch in Southbank. There were four of us dining, and two of us had signed up on their website and printed off the voucher. It only lets you print off one voucher, although it doesn't have any sort of code or your name on the voucher, so I suppose you could copy it. On the voucher it says fifteen pounds off your bill when you order from the a la carte menu and that:

You can only use one voucher per two guests, with a maximum of ten guests per table.

But the manager said that we could only use one voucher per table, and accused us of trying to pass off the same voucher twice! We had to argue that surely we could use up to FIVE vouchers per table, as long as it was only one per two guests and no more than ten guests per table. Finally he agreed to make an exception in this case, but said that he had to split the bill in two and take one voucher of each bill. They also charged a cover charge per person, and service of 12.5% was added onto the bill for the whole thing (the waiter was very good, so we paid this).

Hopefully i'm not duplicating this offer, but Ember Inns are doing there "buy one get one meal free" offer again and Sizzling Pub Co are doing the "2 meals for a fiver" offer again.

Just go to there websites and download the voucher.

Hi I have just received an email from The Green Man in Harborne (another Ember Inn) and they have stated that you actually don't need to present the voucher to get the buy one get one free deal which is available throughout January at any time.

Just to let people know, there is a Chez Gerard in Manchester too, and the voucher can be used there, so it's not just a London-only offer.

Hi there

Fineburger Restaurants are offering 50% off all Burgers All Day Everyday from Now until 25th January. Thet were doing a Monday & Tuesday deal but this has now been extended to every day of the week. There are Fineburgers in Islington, Muswell Hill, Finchley Road (O2 Centre), Hatfield (in the Galleria), Balham & Fulham Broadway (though I think that one is closed at the moment).

The Cafe at my local Sainsbury's store (Cannock) is offering 2 meals priced at £3.99 or more for £5 throughout January. Presumably this offer applies in all stores. I found it at lunch time today.
Incidentally, the range of 'Specials' they offer improved a lot with the new menus around the beginning of November 2008.
