vodafone existing customer deals
 Vodafone have a service called "non handset upgrades" which mean effectively :-
1/ you keep your same phone or buy one privately(be careful)
2/ you commit to a renewal of a 12 month contract..not an 18 mth term
3/ you'll recieve a bill credit of between £0-£250 depending on your spend/term values.
It's a good idea to ask about these because your commitment is only 12 months and Vodafone in effect pay your bills for you for x amounts of months.
The best i've seen was a customer spending £26 per month getting £250 credit on their account, that works out a nearly 10 months rental PAID!!!
As the mobile phone market changes so quickly this allows you to step back allowing the newer phones to come out and more importantly gauge the reliability of them, then you can go and upgrade your phone with more comfidence.
Having worked in the industry for over a decade now here's a few pointers for you...
1/ always be aware that the PHONE is secondary..your line rental agreement is what costin you money...
2/ be open with the sales adviser to what you are looking for.
3/ if a new phone comes out on a Monday..DON'T JUMP STRAIGHT IN , give it a few weeks in the market place to see if any faults develop.
4/ most companies work on a spend relationship value not on the timescale that you've been with them, this is in some was sad but it's at present the benchmark used...
cheers
