Hi everyone,
I just wanted to say a BIG thank you to everyone that has taken the time to read and respond to my threads on this site. I truely believe this site and all the guidance, experience, support and recommendations are the sole thing that has enabled me and my OH to face up to and start actively dealing with our debts.
Those of you that have read my previous posts will see that we are contemplating a DMP versus dealing with things ourselves. The biggest problem being the monthly deficit of income vs earnings. Well what started out as £350-£400 shortfall a month now has the potential to be '£0' with everything paid and even an amount allocated for the OD. This is purely due to the advice I have received, e.g. switching to int only on the mortgage for a short time, getting new quotes for all insurances, this alone has the potential to save us approx £400 a month!!
I can truely see a light at the end of the tunnel and as today is an UP day (positive feelings abound), I thought I would use it to thank everyone.
I have signed up to and used quidco and all being well the fact that I have changed my car insurance online has not only saved a £10 a month, but I should but £75 cashback as well....
Just brilliant, thanks and happy monday to you all.

Amy, just been looking at your signature you are doing great. Well done!!! Anything in particular worked for you?
Have you any experience of Quidco? Just wondering if the £75 cashback is too good to be true. The good you do comes back to you.DFW Long haul supporters No: 134

Hi Ruby
Really glad to see that things are working out for you. The £75 is not too good to be true - I had £50 from Quidco for taking out insurance once, and £40 for applying for a credit card. Others have had bigger sums.
I've got to look into switching my life insurance to- I've been putting it off but reading your post has shamed me into action. How did you go about finding the best deal?Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Go Ruby!! Well done you. And just think - when you're debt free you'll have all this cash to play with!
You rock. Keep it up. And don't forget to get into the 'little' habits - shop sensibly, before buying it check the Oldstyle baord to see if you can make it, hang washing out rather than use tumbly, save energy & water, and never food-shop on an empty stomach. All these little things add up.
On the quidco side of things - I've been with them a while, but only really for the free daily clicks, so am only just approaching 'cashout', but a lot of people do use them. Check out EagertoLearn's site (click2freecash.co.uk or something) which is GREAT for 'clicking'. It all adds up! But remember to ead over to the referral board if you're going to sign up - do a fellow DFW a favour! This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Hiya
Thank you so much. Well ebay is a big thing for me, i have sold pretty much everything i can!
Quidco is fantastic! And yes you can get loads of money from it for going through their site. I have £80 waiting to be validated and sent to me. It can take a couple of months (normally 2-3) but its worth it if all you are doing is going through Quidco to the site you would normally use.

Thanks Amy, eBay is the thing I haven't got around to doing yet!! But it is on the list once the immediate urgency is sorted. In the meantime I have started making a list of the things that I think might sell.... well anything really.
That is really good news about Quidco, what a brilliant idea.... FREE MONEY!!

Thats a good thread to have a read of.
Quidco is great. Well worth having a check if you buy anything on line, or if you want to switch anything. :beer:Debt: just my mortgage
